How to get started introducing a badge scheme at your place of work:
We have introduced a simple planning tool to enable GP Practices to get started.
You can ofcourse look through the staff HR files and look for dates from historical CVs, however the simplest approach may be to ask the directly, gather a list of staff expectations and then start to make a plan for what is needed and when.
This document helps you to ask the staff when they believe they are due their next recogition award, so that there isn’t any awkward mixups!
Whether you want to the recognise time spent with you or also include time at previous employers too, that’s at your own discretion.
Our Story
The journey for LongServiceBadges.co.uk began a few years ago when one of our valued staff was approaching 30 years service. We all wanted to recognise her milestone at the GP Practice where I worked, to say well done and show her the appreciation she deserved. As a small GP Practice business, there just wasn’t a big budget like in bigger organisations and there actually wasn’t anything else suitable to offer.
Since then, we’ve been considering how best to give a gesture for staff in similar situations, in a realistic and cost effective way.

Over the last year recognising staff and boosting morale has been very timely indeed especially in the NHS, and so www.longservicebadges was launched to enable two positive outcomes.

In GP Practices, The Quality and Outcomes Framework (QoF) has introduced targets to motivate practices into recognising staff wellbeing needs. The QoF Quality improvement modules for staff wellbeing asks practices to think about ways of enhancing staff wellbeing, retention, etc
